World Press Photo has announced the winners of its 2007 Awards and posted a gallery of all the images on its site. This one (below), which one third prize in the “Contemporary Issues” category, was particularly startling to me. The caption reads: “Esther, child sex worker, with her friends, Kinshasa, DRC (Democratic Republic of the Congo).” Thank God the issue of the global slave trade is getting increased attention through projects such as The Amazing Chang, Not For Sale, a new documentary called Trade (which was screened at the Catalyst conference in Atlanta last year), etc.

Are you familiar with the following organizations work?
http://www.ijm.org/
They are extremely active in breaking up this kind of work, but more attention to the subject needs to be given. Any more support to these types of organizations.
