A Breakthrough Experiment in Christian Publishing

A breakthrough experiment in Christian Publishing has just taken place. The Wikiklesia Project is an online, self-organizing, collaborative, virtual publishing event that has been completed from start to finish in just days. (And I was fortunate to be a part of it.)
Voices of the Virtual World: Participative Technology and the Ecclesial Revolution explores the growing influence of technology on the global Christian church. The book includes more than 40 influential voices (including mine, see below). A press release can be found here, and the book can be ordered here. All profits go to charity.
My chapter, entitled “Missions Transformed,” attempts to expand on my recent Lausanne World Pulse article and focus in more specifically on the technology that is transforming the work of global missions (i.e. mobile phones and Web video). I’m not sure how well my chapter came together in the short timeframe from writing to publishing, but I’ve begun reading through the other contributions and there is some really fantastic stuff in here. Well worth the US$15 (which goes to the Not For Sale campaign, not to any of us). I hope you’ll check it out and tell others about it!
Note: An audio version will also be available to those who purchase the PDF and/or hard copy version. So you can hear me reading my own chapter! I know, too exciting … Seriously, please check out Voices of the Virtual World: Participative Technology and the Ecclesial Revolution—available online now.
