According to Jeanniey Mullen, global executive director of OgilvyOne Worldwide, “By 2009, 60 percent of e-mails will not be read inside the inbox. E-mail will be read on mobile devices, handhelds, inside social networks, RSS readers, browser toolbars, and via phone.”

I’m using a combination of emoze (a free push email client) to read my work email on my phone (Nokia N95). The only problem is at times I feel a little too connected and tethered to ‘checking the phone’. Sure I’m able to read my mails anywhere but I’m not always in the right position to respond. The end result is it weighs on my mind when I have better things to be thinking about
I think with all things technical there are both good and bad points to be made. Tim Chester in his blog post ‘Why I wrote ‘The Busy Christian’s Guide to Busyness’ is a timely reminder that we need to keep the main thing the main thing.

Also check out a recent post by Mark Driscoll on what he calls ‘Cell Sin’. (Note in OZ we call this gadget or mobile addiction).
