A few months ago, I had the opportunity to meet Luke Renner, the founder of the new Caribbean Institute of Media Technologies (CIMT), which launches this week. Luke is a visionary videographer, and I’d call him another great example of a kingdom journalist—and not only that, but one that is committed to training and equipping others to become kingdom journalists.
After spending a good bit of time in Haiti over the years, Luke is now launching CIMT as “a first-of-its-kind media training school, with the specific goal of offering technology-based storytelling skills to those living in underdeveloped nations” (learn more on Luke’s blog).
In addition to video, Luke has also written powerfully about his experiences in Haiti:
Haiti, Hurricanes, and Horror | This Is How the World Will End …
The plan for CIMT is to start in Haiti and create a stable learning environment that will be “the creative equivalent of a monastery … a refuge from the struggle of survival and a sanctuary of imagination wherein each student can safely explore and refine their own voice, method, and style in a timeframe that is decidedly unique, determined more by their personal journey than by formula.”
Watch the official trailer for the Caribbean Institute of Media Technologies and pray for Luke and others who are involved in launching this exciting new organization:
